Built-In Battery Backup - The built-in nickel cadmium battery pack will power the pump for over an hour, providing peace of mind during power outages or in moving the equipment. The settings not only stay in memory, but the pump will actually run on the battery for over an hour. When turned off, the memory of the last rate setting remains in the pump electronics for 24 hours, so when turned back on, it rapidly returns to the previous setting.

Plug-In Darkness Sensor for pump activation only when aquarium lights are off. No need for separate timer, or resetting timer after power outages. The Darkness sensor is plugged into a jack in the back of the pump, and the suction cup attaches to the aquarium wall on the outside. When the aquarium lights go out, the sensor activates the pump, which then pumps at the programmed rate set by the user. Float Switch Compatibility. A Float switch is available as an accessory, and is plugged into the control jack in the back of the pump. The float switch is connected to transistor-level voltage, providing safety and dependability. High Volume One Channel System. The Sentry-5 is made to be used as a one-channel makeup water doser. Using the included long-life tubing set, the Sentry-5 will pump up to 850mL per hour, or up to 5 gallons per day.
